It is heartening to see residents of Victoria County leading the way to a rolling back of forced amalgamations in Ontario. Forced amalgamation imposes higher costs on property taxpayers, reduces services, and results in a loss of local democracy. People have a right to vote on whether they must continue to put up with these burdens of a bad decision. I'm sure the people will speak clearly in rejecting a botched amalgamation.
